Frik De Meyere

Charting a successful path in unfamiliar territory requires vision, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that define Frik De Meyere’s career. With more than twenty years of international business experience, he now leads Prime Belize Real Estate, helping clients discover opportunities within Belize’s evolving property market. Frik was born and raised in a small farming village near the Dutch border in Belgium. He pursued higher education in Ghent and Antwerp, earning degrees in information technology and emergency medical services. His passion for business led him to expand his expertise by completing an MBA at Flanders Business School and another MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago. Frik built a varied professional background across Europe before moving to Belize. His work spanned multiple industries, including real estate development, information systems, cosmetics, food production, and construction. Over a decade, he invested in and led over twenty startup ventures, many later acquired or merged into larger companies. In parallel, he managed the construction and sale of more than one hundred residential units, developing a strong foundation in property development and real estate strategy. In 2004, Frik traveled to Belize on a business scouting trip with his partner, Ilse Van Keer. During this visit, he recognized the untapped potential in Belize’s property sector and began acquiring properties. By 2011, he and his family decided to relocate permanently to Belize, where he joined BMA Real Estate in Placencia. At the time, BMA was a modest firm completing fewer than fifteen property transactions annually. Over the following decade, Frik played a key role in scaling the business. Under his leadership, the team expanded to more than twenty professionals, and the annual transaction volume exceeded one hundred. BMA also earned a reputation for handling luxury listings—including private islands and high-end beachfront estates—which attracted buyers from North America and Europe. In 2023, ready to pursue a new vision, Frik founded Prime Belize Real Estate with trusted colleagues and experienced local agents. The firm officially launched in January 2024 and is structured to deliver greater flexibility, faster client response, and stronger market visibility. Today, he leads the company’s sales and strategy, managing a wide-ranging portfolio of land parcels, beachfront villas, and private islands. Frik’s entrepreneurial drive also extends beyond real estate sales. He launched 501properties.com, a real estate classifieds platform designed to streamline property listings and searches. He also founded Placencia Storage, the largest storage rental facility in Belize. With Ilse, he opened Chillpoint, a coffee shop, ice cream bar, and wine lounge that has become a well-loved space in Placencia. Now a naturalized Belizean citizen and Justice of the Peace, Frik remains actively involved in the community. He supports education, local sports, public safety, and housing initiatives. Alongside Ilse, he has fostered children and adopted a daughter from Belize—strengthening their family’s connection to the country that has become their home.
