I failed in my entrance exam for my second class because my pencil tip broke. I took the tip and held it in the hand and wrote the entrance exam. My father had to use his influence to get me admission. I developed very bad hand writing because I was always unsure of my spellings. Especially where I should put “o” and where I should put “a”. That speaks volumes about my writing skills. I joined Indian Institute of technology Madras( a premier engineering collage) since my brother joined it. The motivation to join a management school was prompted by the fact I met an alumni who said that if you pass out of Indian Institute of Mangement Ahmadabad you will get an excellent job. After IIM I joined Premji in WIPRO and working directly under him. I joined WIPRO as I had an ambition that I should become an MD of a public company. I worked my backside off and by the time I was 35 I was an MD of a company. Soon realised that I did not enjoy it. One fine morning I gave up job and became a consultant. I became a family business consultant thinking that I will help them to fight multinationals. but many family business after becoming successful sold themsleves to other multi nationals..so i gave up the thought of consulting indian companies..One day i was going through a management book of one of the MBA studets.. I realsied that i did not know half of what was currently taught.. so i decided to join IIM and teach. i taught for two years and found that the students were more interseted in going to US.. so I decided to join TAPMI(a Premier Business School) as chairman of their entrepreneurship center and taught them family business. by this time i had published my book (Inheriting the Mantle by sage publications on family business)and sveral papers to prove that I was also a good professor. I wanted to check whether I could also get the salary like Software engineer and also I wanted to understand the new Soft Ware industry of Bangalore.So I decided to join a multinational SW company as VP hr and finance..i learnt my accounts in this company... After two years I realised that i do not fit into any system and so i started my own strategic consultancy company.. After successfully running it for four years I sold it off and became a consultant and advisor to other companies.. This is where I started blogging and painting...
