- Name: Brandon Zylstra
- About me: I'm a full\-time husband of one and dad of two, who as part of these roles spends much time working as a web developer.  I've been building the web since the days of Mosaic 1.0, have worked mostly with IBM's Domino application server, with a little bit of Java in passing. I am currently working mostly with Ruby on Rails, and some PHP when I can't avoid it.  I prefer projects where I can be involved in the user experience and design as well as front\- and back\-end coding.  I believe my background in linguistics \(and to a lesser extent anthropology and psychology\) makes me a better developer; I see my role as getting inside the mind of my users and communicating with them in their own language, rather than just churning out code and tweaking algorithms.

My gorgeous wife is Rosie and my charming kids are Liliana, Gabriel, and Caleb.  I hope to someday pack us all up in an old VW van \(or a new Honda Element\) and drive around the country camping and exploring, while working remotely on interesting projects for my favorite clients.
