Tyler Berl
Tyler Berl’s life has been shaped by moments when seconds matter, and decisions carry weight. For more than fifteen years in Jacksonville, Florida, he has delivered direct clinical care as a steady presence for patients at their most vulnerable. He is board-certified in emergency medicine, pediatrics, and tactical medicine, and has provided critical care transport as both a paramedic and a nurse. His career has consistently centered on calm execution in high acuity settings. He became a licensed paramedic in 2011 and was quickly drawn to high acuity environments where judgment and precision define outcomes. At Orange Park Medical Center, he spent six years on the emergency department floor before earning a place on the trauma team. He worked closely with physicians and surgeons through cardiac arrests, strokes, infections, and pediatric emergencies, building a reputation as someone who remained composed and decisive when others hesitated. During his years in the emergency department, Tyler developed advanced skills in cardiac life support, airway management, rapid sequence intubation, and ventilator care. He was known for acting with clarity in critical moments and for being a dependable presence during codes. His experience spanned adult and pediatric cases, including assisting with multiple successful deliveries, reinforcing both technical confidence and respect for the emotional gravity of clinical care. Seeking a broader perspective, Tyler transitioned into pediatric care and interfacility critical care transport, working extensively with ventilated and unstable patients. He became proficient at titrating sedatives, vasopressors, and respiratory support on a minute-by-minute basis during long transports. His expertise proved vital during COVID, when he was among the few paramedics cleared to transport pediatric patients on advanced high-flow systems that require deep respiratory knowledge. In 2020, Tyler Berl earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a public health focus, later completing nursing school in 2025 and becoming a registered nurse. He briefly stepped away from practice to care for his grandmother, reinforcing values of loyalty and responsibility. Now back in Jacksonville, Tyler brings a wide clinical lens shaped by trauma bays, ambulances, pediatrics, and family commitment, grounded by discipline, fitness, faith, and service.
