## Profile
- Name: renplus
- About me: Who am I? I am an inspirational educator, writer, mommy, queen, lovely wife, self\-proclaimed goddess of naps, and generally multi\-faceted woman.

Originating in the San Francisco bay area, I grew up in Orange County and have lived in Tennessee, Utah, and Georgia. I recently lived in northern California, but transitioned to the quieter, idyllic life of southeastern Vermont.

I've done many activities and careers in my life. I was a record\-breaking swimmer in my youth, squadron commander of my AFJROTC squadron in high school, member of two award\- winning rifle drill teams \(the military type\), a Probation Officer, and a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do by my mid\-20s. Then I sustained a major injury and my life changed.

After my mid\-20s, I pursued a far more spiritual and intellectual path. I became involved with leading a group of service engineers for a major international corporation, and a lay minister and leader of the teen group at my church. It was there that the seeds for my current life were sown. But life moves on, and so did I.

After a job upheaval, my family and I landed in Northern California. I worked in mortgages and was good at what I did. One day a colleague, whom I had known through my parents for many years, told me to take my master's degree and become a teacher. Within the next year, I found myself teaching part\-time for a local career college. Being a classroom teacher came very naturally, and it was there that I combined my experience, mentoring skills, and leadership training to become a teacher.

But that wasn't enough for me. I thirsted for the deeper connections, and pursued a Doctorate in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction, which I attained in 2011. I was fortunate to blend my understanding from all my experiences within the context of a research study and did ground\-breaking work on student success. I have become a published scholar and continue to work on articles for academic journals and conferences.

I'm currently an Assistant Professor of Business Studies for a very special college that serves students with ASD, ADHD, and learning disabilities. I also teach online collegiate writing courses, write curriculum on a contractual basis, and have published a college textbook about payroll accounting. I'm looking forward to continuing my work with at\-risk students and love every second of my life.

I'm not yet sure what the future holds, but I seek more peaks to discover. My talents are in synthesizing information and connecting new ideas with people and processes. I derive great enjoyment in discovering hidden needs and finding innovative solutions\-\- especially when it's a need that is deep\-seated.

Each day brings a new challenge and new inspiration, and I have grown to embrace the adventure. I thank each of you for joining me on my journey, and invite you to post comments.
