I see myself as an "artist in learning". ie I believe and hope that I have some potential, but am still very much a beginner, seeking to improve my skills, find my style, and discover new techniques and methods. I paint for the enjoyment of creating, to see an idea take solid form, or to capture a scene or image that I find particularly appealing. If I reach the point of becoming professional or commercial, that would be wonderful. For now, I seek to simply enjoy the creative process and see where it leads.
