In his current role, he is the Founder and CEO of HospiceChoice Rx, a pharmacy benefit manager specializing in hospice care, which began its operations in 2023. Under his leadership, HospiceChoice Rx is concentrating on forming partnerships with significant hospice providers, emphasizing cost-effective pharmacy benefit administration while prioritizing patient care and comfort. Previously, Nicholas established and led Outpatient Physician Services of America, Inc. (OPSIA) and its counterpart in Cleveland (OPSIC). His tenure as COO at OPSIC and CEO at OPSIA was marked by significant growth and adaptation to the changing regulatory environment. After the acquisition of OPSIC by OPSIA, the organization was rebranded as Continental Healthcare, Inc. (CHC), becoming a significant player in organ and bone marrow transplant distribution and pharmacy services. In 2002, Nick Opalich founded Strategica Health Partners in Cleveland, a consultancy specializing in healthcare services and pharmaceutical solutions. During his leadership, the firm became a notable independent distributor and medical model developer. His role at Strategica involved contracting, drug procurement, pharmacy relations, and guiding clients through stages of development and growth.
