He/Him · Los Angeles, California

Manuchehr “Manny” Khoshbin’s rise in the world of commercial real estate is a testament to resilience, vision, and an unrelenting drive to succeed. Arriving in the United States as a teenager with his family after fleeing war-torn Iran, Khoshbin began his American journey with limited financial resources and a basic understanding of the English language. He quickly learned the importance of hard work, taking on jobs at a young age to support himself and his family. At just 16, he was stocking shelves at Kmart, and by 18, he had launched a small business selling wild door to door—a brief venture that nevertheless sparked his entrepreneurial ambition. In his early twenties, Manny Khoshbin turned his attention to the mortgage and real estate industry. At 23, he opened a supermarket, using the proceeds to invest in commercial properties. He built his investment strategy around identifying neglected or undervalued assets in promising markets, a method that would define his career. This approach proved its worth in 2007 when he sold over a million square feet of office property before the market downturn, showcasing his keen sense of timing and risk management. As founder and CEO of The Khoshbin Company, based in Costa Mesa, California, Khoshbin has spent more than two decades building a portfolio of commercial assets across the United States. The firm has completed over $1.5 billion in transactions and is recognized for its hands-on asset management and targeted investments in office, retail, and industrial properties. Initially operating as a family office, The Khoshbin Company has since expanded to include outside investors on select projects, while maintaining its efficient and direct approach to business. Khoshbin is also an author, sharing his experience and business philosophy through books like Contrarian PlayBook and Driven. His writing emphasizes the importance of discipline, strategic risk-taking, and the conviction that adversity can be transformed into an opportunity for growth. Philanthropy is an integral part of Khoshbin’s life. He has donated over $600,000 to children’s charities and pledged $1 million to the CHOC Thompson Autism Center, with his giving focused on helping underserved and medically vulnerable youth. Now living in Newport Coast, California, with his wife Leyla and their two children, Manny Khoshbin is also known for his impressive collection of rare cars—a passion he approaches with the same strategy as his real estate investments. For Khoshbin, success is measured not just in wealth, but in family, giving back, and building a legacy that endures.
