Ken Perlstein
Ken Perlstein is a New York-based actor, writer, and comedian whose career covers theater, television, film, and stand-up comedy. He has built his path by working across different mediums, moving naturally between drama and humor, and focusing on characters that bring authenticity and depth to the story being told. He grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he studied acting and directing at the University of Michigan. In 1994, he moved to New York to continue his artistic journey, beginning with his first industry role as an NBC page. That position provided him with a close look at how television is produced, as well as lessons in professionalism and dedication to the craft. Ken later completed his MFA in Acting at The Actors Studio MFA Program at The New School. During that time, he trained under members of The Actors Studio and gained guidance from established professionals, further sharpening his abilities as an actor and storyteller. On stage, he performed in productions such as Laughter on the 23rd Floor and Lost in Yonkers. His television career includes recurring appearances on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and guest roles on series including Succession, The Americans, City on a Hill, Person of Interest, and FBI. He also expanded into writing and producing. He created, directed, and starred in the independent film "January," which was shown at the Millennial Film Festival and the Miami Independent Film Festival. In addition, he wrote and executive-produced the pilot "How Am I Doing?", which screened at festivals throughout the United States and is now available online. Both projects earned recognition for his directing and acting. Perlstein is now developing a new original series and working on its pitch deck. For over two decades, he has been an active stand-up comedian, performing in New York City venues such as Caroline’s, Comic Strip Live, Stand Up New York, and the British Comedy Festival. He has also brought his comedy to audiences in the tri-state area and Los Angeles, blending personal stories with strong character portrayals. Outside of performance, Ken serves as a certified peer recovery specialist with a mobile crisis unit in the Bronx. In this position, he provides support for individuals in crisis, working alongside licensed social workers to connect them with vital resources. This reflects his dedication to extending empathy beyond the stage. He is also skilled at impressions and has a background in athletics, including football, wrestling, and swimming, with a present focus on swimming and cross-training. Now living with his family in New York City, Ken Perlstein continues to create, perform, and advocate, maintaining a strong presence in both his artistic career and his community life.
