The Gathering Basket
About 35 years ago I worked in an electronics company and felt the need for a change. As a child I was always making something from what nature had to offer. It’s hard to deny that need to be creative. I ended up going to floral design school and eventually open up my own shoppe called The Gathering Basket. I had a love for dried flowers, gardening, herbs, baskets, and all things that makes a house a home. Going to yard sales and antique shops was always a way to create unique and different home decor. I have so many fond memories with family and friends. I ran this business for nearly 20 years. Then with life’s twist and turns I closed its doors and pursued another one of my passions, horses. I never really left my creative roots, always dabbling in this or that. But as time has passed that creative innate feeling in me has re surfaced. I’ve reopened my business in hopes to share with you those same unique thrifted finds that I’ve upcycled and repurposed to decorate your home. I love to paint old and abandoned furniture that people no longer want. Now that has become my new passion over the past 3 years. To bring something back to life through refinishing and painting is so rewarding, especially when a client brings me a family heirloom. I primarily use a mineral based paint which is very durable with no VOC, and a variety of waxes stains and finishing products. From small to large furniture finds, vintage linens, glassware, florals, and repurposed finds, ....you’ll never know what you may find “ inThe Gathering Basket”.
