Elizabeth Vander Meer
I have a PhD in Environmental Policy and Ethics, with a specialisation in biodiversity conservation. My research focussed on Darwinian theory as applied to conservation and on the idea of "a feeling for the organism", described by Evelyn Fox Keller in her book of the same name about Barbara McClintock. I have a keen interest in primates (thus the website!) and I'm now working on a degree in anthrozoology through University of Exeter, with focus on ethnoprimatology, human-wildlife conflict and coexistence, wildlife rehabilitation, circus animals, zoo animals and embodied experience. I currently work for the University of Edinburgh and live with two lovely cats, Reilly (pictured) and Zoey. I post on anthrozoology and climate change on Twitter: @lizvmeer
