Dr. William Plaxton is an internist, critical care specialist, and the founder and president of Sapphire Digital Health Solutions in Waterloo, Ontario. Sapphire Digital Health Solutions Inc. (formerly Sapphire Healthgroup Inc.) is a privately held business based in Waterloo, Ontario. Developed by Dr. Plaxton in response to over 15 years of treating acutely ill and injured intensive care unit patients with absent or incomplete medical histories, Sapphire’s LifeSTAT personal health record system offers a unique, innovative way to collect, organize, store and share lifetime health histories, while protecting client privacy and data integrity. Dr. Plaxton has over 22 years of experience in his field. Prior to founding Sapphire Digital Health Solutions, he was the Chief of Critical Care at Grand River Hospital in Waterloo.
