Desiree Peterkin Bell

Desiree Peterkin Bell, the president and CEO of DPBell & Associates, is a two-time best-selling author and an award-winning political and brand strategist. With over 20 years of experience working alongside some of the most influential figures in politics and on the cultural and global stage, she has established herself as a trusted advisor and critical player in political, public affairs, and strategic circles. Driven by a commitment to lead movements, not just moments, she is dedicated to advocating for causes that uplift people of color and underserved communities. Desiree's educational background includes a master's degree in public administration from the National Urban Fellows program in New York. She began her career working for former Mayor Bart Peterson in Indianapolis, where she tackled essential community issues such as affordable housing and economic development. Following the events of 9/11, she returned to her hometown of New York and joined Mayor Bloomberg's administration as a Supervising Legislative Representative. During her tenure with Bloomberg, Desiree was instrumental in the passage of three significant pieces of legislation: The New York City Smoke-Free Air Act of 2022, Tort Reform, and the Film Tax Credit. Her initiative and tenacity led to her appointment as Vice President of Government Affairs for NYC Marketing, where she successfully secured multi-million dollar sponsorships for the city from major corporations such as Universal Studios, General Motors, The Latin Grammys, and the Country Music Awards.
