- About me: I was first published in 1979 in the World Fantasy Award\-Winning Anthology, Amazons, edited by Jessica Amanda Salmonson \(DAW 1979\).  All of my published fiction is  centered around my world of Daverana.  I left fiction for journalism after my daughter was born because the money was better and I needed to be able to support us.  Over the course of fifteen years, i sold pieces to a variety of places, including the Washington Post, Cinefantastique, Movieline, and Black Belt.  The most enjoyable job I ever had was being a restaurant critic for a visitor publication.

I was an in\-house editor for Newcastle for several years, editing New Age books and did outside editorial for Jeremy P. Tarcher while they were still based in Los Angeles.

I currently have 15 novels out in ebook from Renaissance Ebooks, all of which have spent time on the Fictionwise dark fantasy best\-sellers list.  One of them has been translated into Dutch.
