Craig Bonn

Managing Partner, Harley Capital LLC
Hartford, CT

Throughout his professional life, Craig Bonn has focused on building strategies in finance that create meaningful opportunities for investors. With more than thirty years of experience, he has specialized in alternative investments, private equity, and pre-IPO markets. He holds two leadership roles: Managing Partner of Harley Capital LLC, an independent broker-dealer, and Managing Member of Edge Partners LLC, a firm designed to structure investments in late-stage private companies through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). His work has connected clients with opportunities in sectors ranging from healthcare and consumer markets to energy and technology. His early-stage involvements include companies such as Facebook, Databricks, and Anthropic. Craig was born in New York and attended the University of Hartford, where he earned his undergraduate degree. After graduation, he began his career at Lehman Brothers, a major institution at the heart of global finance during that period. The experience introduced him to large-scale portfolio management, risk analysis, and client-focused strategies. His time there also gave him insight into the challenges of relying solely on traditional financial instruments. He saw that confident investors—especially those seeking greater diversification—needed more tailored structures than standard markets could provide. This understanding would later shape the direction of his career. Driven by this vision, Craig established Harley Capital LLC. He aimed to create a firm that prioritizes transparency, accountability, and long-term relationships. As Managing Partner, he has worked with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and trusts, offering them opportunities that often remain unavailable through conventional channels. Harley Capital emphasizes alternative investments, including private equity and pre-IPO exposure, while focusing on diversification and stewardship of client capital. Craig also founded Edge Partners LLC to expand access to late-stage private companies. Credited investors can participate in firms preparing for major liquidity events through the SPV model. Edge Partners operates as a Delaware Series LLC, providing flexibility and efficiency in managing these investments. The firm pays close attention to industries undergoing rapid innovation, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced software, and cybersecurity. His approach emphasizes thorough due diligence and the patience to wait for liquidity events such as acquisitions or public offerings. His philosophy as an investor is guided by three main principles: disciplined risk management, thoughtful timing, and a long-term outlook. Craig has consistently emphasized that investment outcomes are influenced by the company's quality and the structure under which capital is deployed. His preference for SPVs reflects this belief, as they offer a framework that balances potential upside with risk awareness. In addition to pre-IPO and private equity strategies, Craig has participated in natural gas mineral funds, venture partnerships, hospitality REITs, and specialty financing structures. His investments have included involvement with WhiteHawk Energy and positions in companies such as Outstanding Foods, Braemar Hotels and Resorts, Prospect Capital, and Urica Therapeutics. Each decision analyzes industries, business fundamentals, and broader economic conditions. His community involvement complements Craig’s professional pursuits. He supports charitable causes, including Pink Aid and Fred’s Team, which are dedicated to health-related initiatives and cancer research. His contributions include financial support and active participation in fundraising and awareness efforts. For more than 25 years, Craig has lived with his wife in Westport, Connecticut. Outside his professional roles, he is a dedicated runner and has completed five marathons, including the New York Marathon. He is also an avid traveler, drawing personal insight from experiencing new cultures and economies worldwide. By combining his experience in finance with his dedication to community and personal interests, Craig Bonn continues to chart a course that balances professional achievement with meaningful engagement in life beyond business.
