Corey Perrine

Philadelphia, PA

Corey Perrine (b. 1979) is a documentary photographer based in Philadelphia. Through impactful imagery, he is focused on capturing athletics, life, community and sense of place. He began his career at Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield, Va. as an entertainment reporter and cartoonist for The Lance in 1995. Swearing off newspapers, he stumbled into it again after discovering his love affair for people's stories and understanding the importance of visual preservation. With 12-years of experience, he has been privileged to work full-time for The Daily Universe (Provo, Utah), The Dispatch Tribune (Kansas City, Mo.), The Nashua Telegraph (N.H.), The Augusta Chronicle (Ga.), Omaha World-Herald (Neb.) and The Naples Daily News (Fla.). Wanting to be closer to home he moved to Philadelphia where he accepts freelance work and works on personal projects. While not chasing light or a good story, Corey spends time with sweet wife/partner in crime, Sarah, sleeping, watching movies, running, listening to trance/electronic music, collecting comic books, exploring, and playing with his hyper-active dogs Sam and Xena. Growing up in a Korean household, he craves kimchee constantly.
