Barasa Daniel

Barasa Daniel is a Ugandan-born long-distance runner, social advocate, and European Climate Pact Ambassador driving change at the crossroads of sustainability, social inclusion, and youth empowerment. Based in Cyprus since 2017, Daniel is an alumnus of the UN Youth Champions for Peace and Environment Programme (2022) and a recognized voice in European and African climate and social leadership networks. He holds a BSc in Food Science and Technology from the Cyprus University of Technology and an MSc in Green and Digital Management from the University of Limassol, equipping him with expertise in green transformation, circular economy strategies, and intercultural leadership. As the Founder and Director of the Running-Fluent Initiative, Evzin Athletics Club – Uganda, and the Elite Racers Foundation Uganda, Daniel champions projects that promote wellness, active citizenship, migrant integration, and sustainability dialogue across diverse communities. His work has earned him multiple social contribution awards and invitations to shape policy and community actions through the Intercultural Council of Limassol, Limassol2030 Trajectories working group, and other European youth and climate action platforms. Passionate about bridging cultures, fostering inclusive participation, and creating climate-resilient communities, Daniel continues to inspire and mobilize youth, migrants, and local citizens through strategic partnerships, grassroots initiatives, and international advocacy.
