I'm Amy, I'm twenty-one and I'm from Exeter, England. I blog because I love to write, because I have an opinion and a voice, and because there's nothing better than getting something out there that should be read. I chose the title 'The Importance of Being (Amy)' because there was a time in my life when I found it very difficult to be myself and tried to be someone else in order to make life easier. Over the years I've realised that I'm better off in the long run being myself, and I should never forget it. It's also a play on The Importance of Being Earnest, a piece of Victorian Literature which I adore. It ties in my passion for academia and literature with the blog. I spend too much of my time reading, writing and social networking, I obsess over fashion even though I don't dress like it. Music lifts my mood instantly and yes, I dance around the house in my PJs, singing loudly to 80s power ballads, and I worry too much about my degree. Such is the life. I hope you enjoy!
