Stephen M. Fiore, Ph.D., holds a joint faculty appointment with the Cognitive Sciences program in the Department of Philosophy and the Institute of Simulation and Training at the University of Central Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh (2000) working in the Learning Research and Development Center. He maintains a multidisciplinary research interest that incorporates aspects of cognitive, social, and organizational dynamics in the investigation of learning and performance in individuals and teams. He is co-editor of a recent volume on Distributed Learning as well as a volume on Team Cognition and he has published in the areas of learning, memory, and problem solving at the individual and group level. Through numerous collaborative efforts, Dr. Fiore has helped to secure and manage over $5 million in research funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation, the Transportation Security Administration, the Office of Naval Research, and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
