I have been working in public libraries since 1994. I record free downloadable audiobooks for LibriVox.org (basically that's books published before 1923) and Legamus.eu (books published after 1923 by authors who died at least 70 years ago) and the Online Stage (Shakespeare, Austen, Saki etc.). My recordings are mainly contributions to long, pretentious stuff but range from a sura of the Koran, to a chunk of Luke's gospel, to a VERY rude bit of a Roman writer (no, I'm not telling you which!), to the Velveteen Rabbit, to 20 different characters in a dramatic reading of the Divine Comedy, to a 27 hour recording of a volume of Proust. I started a blog as a library training exercise and still have no real idea if there's a general theme - exercises in rhetoric, maybe. It surprises me when I find I've written something religious.
