Trumble's Mum
Mother, teacher, psychologist and now a grandmother, I believe in creative play for all ages. Play is learning in action and I know active learning to be the key to mental alertness and enjoyment of every stage of life. With that in mind, I intend to spend my retirement years doing that which I enjoy to the utmost. I no longer do what other wish out of duty, but do things for others because it gives me pleasure. My other activities (beyond supermarket shopping, the one activity I loath but can't avoid!) are to be things that please me, regardless of the arbitrary age related designation each activity is given by our modern, often jaded society. I was long ago declared to be mad as a hatter by one of my children - so, what have I to lose by being a crazy older lady who lives a lifestyle that others might think more suitable for a ten year old than someone past their 65th birthday?! My little grandson is my muse - the world seen through his eyes is one of wonder, full of new things to discover, try out and learn. The roles are reversed, The child is the teacher of the grandparent and the grandparent is more than willing to comply!
