Stephanie Vanderslice aims to write what she likes to read: fiction and nonfiction that spins a web to lure the reader in. Most of her fiction traverses the past and present German-American neighborhoods of Queens, New York where she was born and spent a great deal of her childhood. Her nonfiction explores her life as a Gen-X writer, professor, partner and parent. Her books include Rethinking Creative Writing (2011) and Teaching Writing to Undergraduates (2011). She blogs as the Writing Geek on the Huffington Post and directs the Arkansas Writer's MFA Workshop at the University of Central Arkansas. Her fiction is represented by Anne Bohner at Pen and Ink Literary. She is also a Francophile and an Anglophile and can bake a mean loaf of French bread, if you really want to know.
