Derek Osborn

An English man born 1941 and realised my yoga route when 12 years old. Since then have studied and practised yoga of all kinds, taught yoga since 1969 in England, France and at the ashram of a friend in Tamil Nadu. More details about my yoga path can be seen in my website www.yoga-sadhana.org In 2000 I made pilgrimage to Gaumukh at the source of Ma Ganga (River Ganges) en route meeting and being initiated by my guru Mahesh Giri. It was he who stated I should be named Shiv Giri, and added that I should describe myself as `naga baba` and Swami`. In 2013 I was initiated into the parampara of Swami Pranavananda Brahmendra Avadhut and given the title of Swami Shantananda Brahmendra Avadhut. In addition I enjoy many other interests including being outdoors in nature, arts, gym fitness training etc etc. I also love to be in touch with others all over the world who might share some or all my interests.
