I am an archaeologist interest in post-Roman Britain and Anglo-Saxon England. I have excavated in the Eskdale Valley of Cumbria in Viking period levels and at Winchester in Roman and Anglo-Saxon levels. My book, "Daily Life in Arthurian Britain, was published in 2014. By Arthurian Britain, I mean to convey that the book focuses on the Britons in the fifth and sixth centuries. Most books dedicated to that time period focus only on the Anglo-Saxons, whose history is much better known, but through archaeology, we are rapidly learning more about the Britons themselves. These are the people who gave rise ultimately to the Arthurian stories.
