As a survivor and witness to long term interpersonal violence, my goal is to bring awareness and commentary to a problem that affects society on a global scale. Areas of special focus are areas that have affected my life or the lives of others that I know and care about. Issues that I am most passionate about are issues of crimes against women, children, and nature. What I consider violence is subjective. To my way of thinking, greed is violence in that it causes poverty, which leads to crimes committed in the name of survival. Materialism is violence in that children kill or bully others who do not conform to trends or are without the means to purchase high end items in order to be popular. Disrespect towards another is violence. Spanking children is violence. Men hitting women is violence, and vice versa. The Incidents that I mention, among others, are things you would not want done to you. Why would you do these things to someone else?
