Sandy Brehl
I've loved reading since my earliest years, even before going to school. During several decades as a teacher I shared my love of reading and began writing with, and for, my students. I learned a lot from them. After I retired I joined SCBWI (The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), and I wish I had done so years earlier. Now I’m an active member, and I'm reading, learning, and writing full time. I also lead professional workshops on using picture books for all ages (for teachers, librarians, and others who work with learners). ODIN’S PROMISE was my debut novel, but it was followed by BJORN'S GIFT and MARI'S HOPE, a trilogy set in Norway during five years of German occupation. I also write picture books, novels in verse, and more. When not writing, I’m reading and reviewing books on Goodreads, and I post reviews and commentary about picture books at my picture book blog: http://UnpackingPictureBookPower.blogspot.com. I'm on Twitter @SandyBrehl and @PBWorkshop and invite you to “like" my Facebook page: SANDY BREHL AUTHOR.
