Marilyn Sarah AICH - Conference Interpreter
Marilyn Sarah AICH grew up and worked in France, in Africa, in the Middle East and in the Netherlands. She emigrated from Ivory Coast to South Africa with her husband and her two sons in 2002, where she spent a number of years working as Vice-Consul at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Abidjan. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg with a BA (HONS) in Translation and Interpreting. As interpreter, she excels in different modes of interpreting such as liaison interpreting or whispering mode for private or business meetings and in consecutive interpreting which she mainly uses at the Southern African Arbitration Court or in Tribunals, but her area of interest and expertise lies in Conference interpreting where particular skills and techniques are used by highly qualified interpreters particularly trained in simultaneous interpreting. She is an Accredited Professional Conference Interpreter, accredited by the South African Translators & Interpreters Institute (SATI) and a Sworn Translator sworn by the High Court of South Africa. She is extremely passionate and enthusiastic about her work as a Conference Interpreter and her role in enabling communication to flow between people of diverse horizons and cultures.
