Lowell, MA and Columbia, MD

As a public educator since 1976, I have had multiple experiences in the public school forum. I have been an elementary general education teacher, as well as a special education teacher, a mentor, and a professional development presenter. After being in the classroom for almost twenty years, I became a special education administrator and then an elementary school principal. All of my experience has been in the urban school setting in the following school districts: Memphis City Schools, Baltimore County Public Schools, and the Lowell Public School District. Additionally I have been a literacy consultant and professional development presenter as part of my administrative career. I retired from the Lowell Public Schools in June 2011. As I begin my new career as a literacy consultant and professional development provider, I will rely heavily on my thirty-five years of experience as an urban public school educator. Being a public school educator is one of the most demanding jobs one can imagine, but it is also one that brings a sense of personal and professional fulfillment to all of us who share a passion for learning and making a positive difference in the lives of the children we teach. I currently reside in both Lowell, MA and Columbia, MD; this allows me to continue my work with the Lowell Public Schools and also spend time with my grandchildren.
