MA Media Studies (Broadcast) Book: The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom: It reminds me to take my time when it comes to making decisions, to breathe and relax after a tiring day, and of being human despite all that has been happening around me. Movie: Finding Vivian Maier: It is beyond telling the story of a woman who was actually a talented photographer. It is more of her, expressing how she feels through her photos. It makes you feel a sense of regret and at the same time, a sense of being amazed on how she took all those wonderful photos without even knowing the basics of photography. Media practitioner: Jesus Orbida: He was able to extend his cause outside of the media industry. From being a writer, a producer, and a programming manager of GMA, he was able to create an organization that values children’s education. He was also able to extend his cause when it comes to regional agricultural yield which promotes the importance of the contribution of small farmers to the agricultural industry. Band/Song: The Submarines: You, Me and the Bourgeoisie: Its feel good melody is the opposite of the content of its lyrics making you realize about the kind of world that you are living in now. Listening to it makes me happy, but thinking about its lyrics’ content makes me appreciate what I have and what I do not have. Website: Adbusters.org: It debunks advertisements and other media content making you look at content in different perspectives. Meal: Lunch: I don’t usually eat breakfast and dinner. If specific, my Mom’s spaghetti. Hobbies: Watching movies, photography, writing scripts, and playing with Lucky (my pet beagle).
