I am a married Mom of two children, ages two and seven. Our family has been embarking on an adventure the past two years (and indefinitely into the future) in the cosmopolitan Middle Eastern city of Dubai. My husband is a pilot, so the kids and I wing it on our own quite often, giving me a new appreciation for adult conversation. While this may sound slightly 1950s of me, my husband's career has had a substantial part in defining who I am. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom but, in my former life, I achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and spent the majority of my working years in higher education. With my youngest one finally sleeping through most nights, it is time to dust off my writing skills, so here goes....
