I am a seasoned security and policy analyst on the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes regions. I have represented various organizations as an expert on these regions at the UN, the State Department, and other various foras as well as in the international media. I have authored and contributed to numerous policy briefings, reports, and articles on conflict and security in East Africa. My background as a journalist in this region has afforded me a large network of contacts I rely on in my work. I am fluent in English, Kiswahili, and various other local dialects and have a working knowledge of Arabic and French. My professional experience was enhanced by my academic research while obtaining my Master's Degree in International Security Policy at Columbia University.
