Group Director of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, Entain
United Kingdom

As a Corporate Affairs leader, I help businesses navigate regulations (and regulators) in multiple global jurisdictions. I have always been involved regulatory issues - in Europe, the US, and in the developing world. In previous roles I served on the Secretariat to the Independent Commission on Banking, which advised the British government on how to avoid another banking crisis; as an advisor to the governments of Nigeria, South Africa and the Dominican Republic on the privatization of utilities; and as one of the team who set up the first competition authority in Tanzania. I have also been engaged on a number of public and private sector consulting projects in the UK, ranging from reforming a government department to reviewing the definition of "public service broadcasting". My non-executive experience includes serving as a Trustee and then Chairman of the Circadian Trust, an £11m turnover charity that operates a network of leisure centres and sporting facilities in South Gloucestershire; serving as a Trustee Director for a £2.5bn pension fund; and serving a term as Vice-Chair of the ICC's UK Tax Committee. I was educated at Bournemouth School and Jesus College, Oxford, where I took a First in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and subsequently an MA. I also hold a postgraduate qualification in Public Administration from the University of York. I have had short spells of living overseas, in Dubai and in the Netherlands, but am currently UK-based.
