I was saved, born again by the grace of God through the Spirit in the summer of 1969. This was part of the time of the move of the Spirit starting earlier in California. Called the Jesus Movement in 1970. “The media was telling people that God was dead,” and a service at Melodyland Christian Center where they heard young people giving testimonies about being “saved,” delivered from drug addiction and finding “a personal relationship with Jesus.” It was the Jesus Movement in February 1971, and its photos of young people being baptized in the Pacific Ocean that caught the attention of the international media. Time and Life followed with cover stories in June 1971. Yes and it was that year while going to a community college that I saw a strange sight, a full size Ford station wagon with a huge sign on top saying, in response to the media's claim that "God was dead", he wrote; "Gods not dead, why He isn't even sick!" In which I full hardily agreed! He was alive in me.
