Me, Rafeeq, hails from a village called Thiruvallur, near Vadakara in Calicut district of Kerala. Began my writing career early. When blogging caught on in Malayalam, I was there to capture the wave. While the blog Opparam (Together) was devoted for poetry, Ikkarappacha (Grass is greener this side) was for non-fiction. I became a lyricist in the Malayalam feature film called Annayum Rasoolum. My first book, Thiruvalluru was published by Pravasi Book Trust and the second one Uppilittath by Mathrubhumi Books. The third, an anthology of my articles on aspects of Muslim social life of Malabar was titled Urudi, published by Mappila Heritage Library.
