Jonathan Humble is a retired deputy head teacher in Cumbria. A collection of his light poetry (My Camel's Name Is Brian) has been published by TMB Books. Fledge, a collection of wild urban poetry was published in 2020 by Maytree Press. His work has appeared in The Big Issue In The North, Poems For Freedom, The Dragon Poet Quarterly, Lighten Up Online, Paragram, The Teacher, Spilling Cocoa Over Martin Amis, The Tripe Marketing Board’s Diary, Ink Sweat & Tears, Obsessed With Pipework, Clear Poetry, Curlew Calling Anthology, Cumbrian Poetry Anthology, Atrium, Three Drops Press, Riggwelter Press, Zoomorphic, Fairacre Press, Amaryllis, EyeFlash Poetry, Burning House Press, Picaroon Poetry, Blue Nib, Barren Magazine and on BBC Radio. His short stories and poems for children have been published in The Caterpillar, The Looking Glass Magazine, Amazing Magazine, Poetry Roundabout, Stew Magazine and The Dirigible Balloon. In 2022 he won the inaugural Milk House Best Poem award for Masterclass. He has been shortlisted for the Caterpillar and York Children's Poetry Competitions. He is the Poet Laureate for the Tripe Marketing Board and Rossendale’s Sunday Clog Market and is also the editor of The Dirigible Balloon, a website showcasing poetry written for children. Other than writing poetry and short stories, his hobbies include beard growing, pointing at poppies and keeping the international coffee industry afloat with his patronage.
