After years and years as a professional writer -- mostly advertising and marketing communications -- I literally cannot read anything without proofreading and editing it. In fact, I can't even to listen to anyone speak without correcting (silently, gritting my teeth) their grammar. Although it may indeed be obsessive, it's actually quite fun.
