Hi there! My name is Zee, and I'm an aspiring writer who is looking to give up her day job - eventually. By day I teach, by night I am a writing fiend, Words are wonderous - period. I am also a painter and sketcher, who works on large canvasses, mostly with acrylics. You know where you stand with acrylics - it's all about working fast and being decisive. No messing about! However oils and I do not get on... we have courted briefly, but oils gave me the cold shoulder. Pencils however are the best, they have been my only constant companions (tonal work!). In short, I am an artist at heart. Being a painter hugely influences my work - it has been described as rich with imagery. I don't know what that means, only that it is the only way I know to tell a story. This is my blessing and my biggest struggle... This blog is all about my journey to 'finding my voice'. Stories aren't just black on white - they are carefully crafted moving canvasses of thought and meaning. My quest is the capture the world as I see it, my dilemma is to find the words that will do it justice. Sometimes, this starts a war between what I see and what I am able to say. This blog won't exclusively be about writing however - I am a visual artist, so expect to see paintings, sketches, photos and other forms of media as I get closer and closer to my goal: publication!
