Very much focused on finding ways for companies to more effectively improve. Written several books, latest: Author: Escape the Improvement Trap (2010), How to Do a Gemba Walk (2015) I enjoy working with leaders to more effectively implement five key steps to improvement: 1. Better define what a 'win' means, usually they are loosely defined, 2. Being in touch with reality as it truly exist (vs. how you wish it was) 3. Really care (most don't) about developing people - Easy to say "people are our most important asset (resource)" but how many organizations or leaders truly care enough to help people fully develop their talents and capabilities? Takes discipline to do this well as a leader. 4. Find ways to provide rapid and publicly visual feedback on progress toward the wins. This is a very powerful motivator, but is often underutilized.
