I love the beauty of words, and although I've been teaching and sharing poetry to my high school English classes for years, it's just lately that I find myself making time to write my own poetry to share on this blog. As Emily Dickinson once said, “If I read a book and it makes my whole body so cold no fire can ever warm me, I know that is poetry. If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry. These are the only ways I know it. Is there any other way?” This is truly how poetry makes me feel. Enjoy!
