Mark D. Smaller, Ph.D., is a psychoanalyst working with adults, adolescents and children. He practices in Chicago and Douglas, MI. He is the former Director of the Neuropsychoanalysis Foundation in New York, and the Founding Director of the Analytic Service To Adolescents Program (ASAP), a joint treatment and research in school program of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis and Morton Alternative High School. He is also the founder of Great Expectations, a school counseling project at Saugatuck High School in southwest Michigan. Dr. Smaller is on the Faculties of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis and the Institute for Clinical Social Work. As a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association, Dr. Smaller is Chairman of the Committee on Public Information, and former Chairman of the Committee on Social Issues. He is also a Board member of the American Psychoanalytic Foundation. Dr. Smaller serves on the Executive Committee (Action Group) of the International Neuro-Psychoanalysis Society; and the Rita Project in New York. He is a former board member of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis, and the Institute for Clinical Social Work, Chicago.
