One of the common threads about much of my work is writing about people. As I prepared to hand in my latest book manuscript in last January the feeling was bitter-sweet: i would no longer have an excuse to interview interesting people about thier lives. A friend set me a challenge, which became a new years resolution: set up a blog to write people. 2013 was a tumultuous year and it didn´t get to become a reality but nearing the end of the year , I hope the Project will see the light in 2014. Why would this be of any interest to you? I live across cultures and divides, rubbing toes with some of the poorest (but happiest?) people on the planet (for now in Rwanda and Morocco) and bridging them to the west, with access to some influential minds around the world too. This blog is based on the premise that everyone has an interesting story to tell, and is here to tell their story. And it´s my excuse to get to know people better. There will be two main themes which poeple can chose from. First the three most important influences in a persons life. And second, peoples life philosphy and how they live by it. It is always interesting to re-invent yourslef, and maybe the people featured here, perhaps so near or far, can serve to inspire you and take you on a journey in your daily life. Enjoy! Maia
