I graduated in 2020 with an Ed D from the International and Multicultural Education program at the University of San Francisco. I have worked as an early childhood and elementary educator since 2000. I hold an MS Ed in Early Childhood Education with a Bilingual (Spanish) Extension from Hunter College, New York; and an MA in Language and Literacy Education (Elementary) from San Francisco State. Since 2015 I've worked as a preservice teacher supervisor and an early career teacher mentor through USF and the Bay Area Writing Project. I am also an elected board member of the Early Childhood Education Assembly of the National Council for Teachers of English. My research and educational interests include family and community involvement in early elementary classrooms, the maintenance and promotion of home languages in early elementary classrooms, and the healthy physical and emotional development of our youngest children.
