I'm a 65 year old wife and mother living in Minnesota. I left the business world after 35 years working in Purchasing, Sales, Domestic and International Customer Service at SPX Corp. I was indeed living the all American dream: 2 kids, a husband, a job, a home, a dog, and even a fence (but not the white picket kind). That came to an abrupt end on September 20, 2003, when my oldest daughter Elizabeth (Liz) died very suddenly, very tragically, and very unexpectedly. She was a 20-yr old sophomore at the University of Minnesota when she and two housemates died of smoke inhalation from an early morning fire at their duplex in Dinkytown, just a few blocks from the U. My life was shattered and I have spent the last 11 years working to put the pieces of life back together again. They will never be the same ... there is a huge piece that will always be missing ... THAT, HOWEVER, IS NOT THE END OF THE STORY! Liz has reached out to touch me and those she loves in so many different, amazing ways. Many wonderful people have come into my life to help me sort it all out. LIFE IS JOYOUS! I now write and speak publicly. I truly enjoy sharing my journey from tragedy to transformation.
