I'm a daughter, sister, wife, mother of two, full-time worker outside the home, budding baker, and wannabe foodie. I started thinking about blogging a couple of months ago because I've benefited from online communities in ways that (I think) are helping me become a better parent (and better person), and I'm learning lessons that (I think) may benefit other parents. In particular, I've been searching for answers on- and offline to help me better understand a daughter who is awesome in so many ways and challenging in so many others. In searching for affordable, accessible, culturally sensitive resources, I've hit so many dangnabbit roadblocks that I've decided to spare my husband some of my rants by putting them to (electronic) paper. Hopefully, hopefully, someone else with similar needs and concerns may stumble upon this blog and learn something that will make their way easier. Disclaimer: I am not a professional writer, and, intentionally, I didn't spend a lot of time researching or thinking about blogging because I most surely would have talked myself out of it. It may very well be the case that this blog will contain no original thoughts, and I've already forgiven myself for that and decided to think of it an open diary rather than the best thing since sliced bread. So, here goes . . . .
