Dr. Kev Hilton is Northumbria School of Design’s Postgraduate Research Programmes Leader, working from the Centre for Design Research. He was a Co-Founder of the Centre and initially focused on the use of 3D computer modelling, rapid prototyping, and animation as an aid to informing design project communities. As a Reader within NSD’s research themes of ‘Insights’ and ‘Social Innovation’, he is investigating Transformational Experience Design, through subjects that include: Design Against Crime; Radical Resilience; and Gender Inclusivity. His approach has involved developing different forms of experience to better enable people to see, think, and do things, towards creation of positive change. His methods include persona development, creative writing, representational modelling, and curation.
