I am an author, poet, sage and HUWmourist and political commentator. There is no plan B. Either the writing works or ... well I haven't decided yet. Returning to work isn't an option. I'm persisting with the traditional route to publication for the time being but cashing in my pension to self-publish could be the way to go. Or robbery. The plus side of robbery is either I succeed and make money or I get caught and imprisoned. Win-win. Still, I'm hoping the writing works out.
