We are seeking to create a revolutionary socialist (Trotskyist) political party of the working class which is necessary in order to educate and lead the working class to overthrow the capitalist system of greed, racism, sexism, war and poverty. Why does the working class need a revolutionary socialist workers party? Because every successful workers revolution in history has been led by such a party; and almost every failed revolution in history has failed - and tens and even hundreds of thousands of heroic workers were murdered by the ruling class counter-revolutionary reaction because the workers and peasants did not succeed in creating such a party. The capitalist system lost its creative, progressive character in the decades before WWI and now impedes the future progress of the human race. The capitalist classes have proven that they have no intention of using their massive hoarded wealth to solve the enormous social problems created by their capitalist system: hunger, homelessness, racism, sexism, poverty and war. In order for human civilization to move forward the global, greed-based capitalist system must be overthrown and replaced by a global alliance of egalitarian socialist workers states that harness all the world's resources and put them to use for the benefit of the entire human race, not just a handful of billionaires. Only under a rationally planned socialist economic model can we tackle and solve the tremendous problems facing us in the 21st century and beyond. If we stick with the capitalist system we are consigning our descendants to a future of war, poverty and human and environmental degradation. The next major world war, which would be a nuclear war, could drive humanity back into a stage of semi-barbarism.
