Ilana DeBare

Ilana DeBare is a freelance writer and former newspaper reporter based in Oakland, Calif. She is a co-founder of the Julia Morgan School for Girls, the only all-girl middle school in the East Bay, and author of Where Girls Come First: The Rise, Fall and Surprising Revival of Girls' Schools (Tarcher/Penguin, 2004). Ilana is currently working on a novel.
