I like to eat soup with small spoons and gelatto with smaller ones. I check 'other.' I know that we don't go into nature: we ARE nature. DC is my city; Baltimore is my residence; and the entire Chesapeake Bay Watershed is my home. My schools have been UMCP, Avodah: The Jewish Serivce Corps, the Echo Hill Outdoor School, NOLS, MD Public Allies, the streets of DC and the swamps of the Eastern Shore. I work at the Pearlstone Center near Baltimore where I manage outdoor experiential education programs, teach environmental justice, facilitate team building, harvest veggies, and occasionally witness baby goats being born. Back in the city I volunteer with Batlimore Inner City Outdoors, learn, and play. I thus satisfy my urban heart, my country soul, and my lack of interest in what's known as “free time.”
