Alexis @ Home in the Straw

Hey! I'm Alexis, a wanna-be modern homesteader. I decided to start this blog because (a) I was having a hard time finding gardening/homesteading blogs, especially around Missoula, (b) my husband and I are about to start an awesome (literally) adventure. This will be a chronicle of our attempts to turn 9 acres of orchard grass into a source of food and home. We'll be building a straw bale house, planting a garden and orchard, raising and eating animals, trying out all that information from books and movies and talking, and hopefully turning that orchard grass into a semi-native prairie.
